Tullgren Funnel Apparatus (supplied without bulb holder and lamp)

Product Description

The Tullgren Funnel is a useful tool for teaching soil biology, helping students extract and study small soil organisms like insects and mites. It allows for a hands-on experience in understanding soil ecosystems.

How to use:

To use, simply place a soil sample on the mesh inside the funnel. The funnel is then attached to a retort stand using a bosshead. As heat is applied (not included), organisms move downwards and fall through the funnel into a beaker (not included) for observation.

Supplied components

• Black plastic ring – Holds the different sized meshes in place.
• Mesh set – Includes 2 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm meshes for different soil samples.
• Funnel – Directs organisms into the collecting beaker.
• Retort rod and bosshead – Supports the funnel setup.

Not Supplied:

• Lamp holder
• Retort stand base
• Heating lamp bulb
• Glass beaker
